What I Want for Christmas

I would really love a new snowboard but I know I probably wont get one. Clothes are always nice to. I always steel Stephanie's persimmons so I would really like some of my own because they are sooooooo delicious!

Plans for Winter

It is sooooo freezing so I'll probably start wearing a winter coat or some sweaters.  I am super excited for snowboarding.  A friend had some free passes for Big White but they're only good for tomorrow and her dad can't drive us anymore so we're really sad :(  I am really really hoping that somebody will be able to take us.

This is my animation. The reason it plays twice is because it was so short and I wanted to make it longer.

Favourite Season

I love winter and summer but I like summer better. I like winter because there is Christmas and snowboarding and ice skating and stuff. The reason I like summer better though is because that's usually when the most exciting things happen. You get to go on vacations and see lots of friends and family who you don't normally see. Almost all of my most memorable moments happened in summer.

Halloween Plans

I'm not quite sure exactly what I'm going to be doing for Halloween. I know I'm for sure not going to the dance because I have a vollyball game. On Friday I might dress up, Steph and me were going to maybe be Phineas and Ferb.

Photoshop Assignment

This was the visual colour change. I had fun with this one. I started be just changing Stephanie's shirt but then I went to town and changed her whole outfit! (Can you tell I like doing this one the most?!)

This was painting away colour. It was very easy to do and I enjoyed it.

I did two motion effect pictures. They were a little trickier to do then the others but I really liked how they turned out.

This was the tattoo one. It seemed like it would be hard at first but after I got it explained to me then It was pretty simple.

This is my name in the Gel Type. It took the longest because it was the first one that I completed but I really like it.

Logos

In the Baskin Robbins logo, the 31 stands for thirty-one flavours and the curved line that arks the number is an indicator of a perfect scoop of ice cream. There is the perfect amount of colour, enough for it to be eye catching but not to much as to create a mess of the logo.

The Big White logo clearly represents it's unique style through its choice of font. The bright white and vibrant blue colours make the place seem like a snowy winter wonder land. 

This is the old Apple logo. It is very similar to the new logo we know of today except for the colour. They both use the same shape with smooth curved lines. This one however is more attractive to the eye because it has many bright colours that represent the diversity of their products.

This is the logo of the dance school that I used to attend. It has many smooth flowing lines and soft colours that create a calm feeling when looked upon. The font is a good indicator of the Irish culture that the dance comes from.

I am not familiar with this logo but it caught my eye because of the use of letters in the form of a picture. The outline of the blue letters creates the unmistakable shape of a dolphin. The white background is a good indicator of perfect ice to skate on.

The use of symmetry in this logo is very affective. If split in half directly down the middle, it is the Quick Silver logo but when it is pieced together as shown it is the Roxy clothing icon. The two smooth, curved lines that almost meet each other at the top middle represent the perfect  waves for surfing. The heart formed by the two waves put together makes the clothing that Roxy sells seem fun and feminine.

This is the Kelowna United soccer logo. It is the shape of a symmetric circle which makes the image of a soccer ball in the background. On top of the soccer ball is a red maple leap showing that the teams wearing the logo are proud Canadian soccer players

In this logo, the lines crisscross in a way that creates the letter v and the letter w which stand for Volkswagen. The lines are contained within a perfectly rounded, smooth circle that create the image of a steering wheel or a horn. Also, this logo is made of a shiny, smooth metal which gives the idea to customers that Volkswagen vehicles are the same way.

                                                                                                           

My Logo

This is my logo for my ice cream website. I would have liked to make the ice cream scoops all different colors but I was behind on it and didn't have time.

Black and White Hands

This is my black and white scan. It is Ashley's and my hands. The ends of our fingers are pressed up against the screen of the scanner so it is fogged up a bit.

Nature

This is a scan of things I collected from outside. I used a colorful background to make it a bit more interesting to look at.

This is my collage scan about food! I love food so that's why I chose it. I even used real fishy crackers and glued them on to the paper.

Stephanie's Birthday!

Stephanie's birthday is on October 7 which is this Thursday. She just told me as I was sitting thinking about what to wright for today's blog entry. I didn't even know till now and now that I know I'm really excited! She's finally going to be 15 (: I hope Thursday is a special one for Steph.

My Website

I am thinking of doing a website on candy because I love the way candy looks, especially when it's all rapped up in its rapper. For the logo I might do a swirly candy as the background and something else on  the front but I don't know what yet. Ashley is also doing a candy website so I might do mine on horses because they're one of my favorite animals.

How I'm doing in this class

It's been ok so far. I'm a little bit behind on one of the projects but not by much. I really like the picture project I did and my name plate. I'm also really excited that I actually learned how to post videos! The only thing that didn't work out for me is the spacing between my pictures. They're all perfect except for the last one that is way lower than all the rest. All in all it has been pretty good.

Name Plate

I chose Berlin Sans FB as my font and made it size 59 because it makes the letters really stand out. The background I picked was called Folds and it looks like little bubbles. I chose a turquoise colour and tinted it so that it was a mixture of purple and blue. One of the filters I chose was the Hue/Saturation and I saturated it to 100%. Sharpen More was a filter that I used and I sharpened it to 108. I used the Glow filter to make a pink glow around my name.

10 Favorite Pictures

Landscape:This is a picture of the hills behind the school and a seagull flying in front of them. This picture is so good because the seagull is so clear and it makes the picture a lot more interesting then if it was just the hills.


Portrait:This is a picture of my friend Stephanie and me. It's a good picture because usually portraits are taken from directly in front of the people, not from above.






Something growing in an environment it shouldn't be able to (not planted):This is some sort of vine growing on a barbed wire fence. The reason it's so cool is because normally if you just looked at the whole vine from a distance it would look ugly growing on barbed wire but because it is a close up, taken of just a small portion of the vine, it is very intriguing.




Silhouette:This is a picture of Ashley, Stephanie and me. We are behind the sun so our shadows are visible and that is what makes the picture so neat.







Something man made hidden, lost, or discarded in nature:This is a photo of a Tim Horton's coffee cup sitting in a tree. It is obviously not supposed to be there but people are careless sometimes.











Picture emphasizing one specific colour:This is a picture of a fire alarm and what's cool about it is that not only the alarm is red but also the bricks in the background.







Texture:This is a photo taken of running water. I like it because the texture of the water running down is quite clear.









Picture taken from exaggerated angle:This is the lock on a locker. Usually someone would see their lock face on but this shows it up and to the side, an angle that a person can't usually see.






Reflection:This is a fun picture of Ashley and me in front of the glass by the school doors. The photo shows a clear reflection of us on the glass.

Close-up:This is a close up picture of white berries that I took. I love it because the berries look like little, mini marshmallows!

This Weekend....

On Saturday I am in a volleyball tournament and then after I am going to my friend's birthday.  On Sunday I am probably going to church. I don't know what else.

I picked this website because it is a website that everyone knows pretty well.

First Week at School

The first week of school is always exciting but I know I'll be bored of it by next week. I love seeing all my friends for the first time since the last school year. I got all the courses I wanted and there's lots of fun people in them. My younger sister and cousin are at this school now so it was fun to see what classes they were in and scare them about the teachers they got. I was really mad about my locker situation this year though. It's way down at the end of the school by the wood room, it's a bottom locker and the lock in it is so hard to turn. The day I got it I went to my sister and told her I would most likely be using her locker most of the time and she didn't really care.

My Lame Weekend

My weekend was not that interesting. On Saturday I reffed a couple soccer games. Then on Sunday I went to church and did some homework.
